New Hanover County Extension Service Arboretum is a 7-acre arboretum established on the grounds of the New Hanover County Cooperative Extension Service, 6206 Oleander Drive, Wilmington, North Carolina. It is open daily without charge.
The arboretum was formally opened in 1989, and is still under advancement. It presently includes 33 gardens including a water garden, bog garden, kids’s garden, herb garden, Japanese garden, and rose garden. It is stated to consist of more than 4,000 ranges of native and naturalized plants, with much of its initial plants provided by J. C. Raulston, North Carolina State University horticulturist and namesake for the JC Raulston Arboretum.
